ByteDance Said to Splurge RMB40B in Buying CN AI Chips This Yr

ByteDance plans to splurge more than US$12 billion on AI infrastructure this year, of which RMB40 billion (US$5.5 billion) will be spent on buying Chinese AI chips, double the amount spent last year, Financial Times cited people familiar with the matter.

The company is also planning to invest about US$6.8 billion overseas to enhance its foundation model training capabilities using advanced Nvidia (NVDA.US) chips.
