<Research>CLSA: Resumption of Chip Supply in H20 Expected to Ease Shortage Problem of Kingsoft Cloud (KC.US)

CLSA’s research report noted that Kingsoft Cloud (KC.US)'s share price leaped approximately 8% today (15th), fueled by positive news from Nvidia (NVDA.US) CEO Jensen Huang’s visit to China this week and confirmation that Kingsoft Cloud has received U.S. notification allowing exports of Nvidia’s H20 chip. Huang purportedly met with XIAOMI-W (01810.HK) and KINGSOFT CLOUD (03896.HK)(KC.US) Chairman Lei Jun. Furthermore, rumor had it that Chinese internet companies and cloud service providers are testing Nvidia’s B30 chip and placing orders. Although the B30’s single-chip performance is merely about 80% of the H20, its in-cluster performance looks good, and its price range of USD6,000-8,500 offers a cost advantage over the H20 (USD10,000-12,000) and domestic GPUs.
