Ping An Life Adds Stake in ABC Again, Constituting Acquisition of Disclosable Stakes for 3rd Time in 6 Mths

Ping An Life Insurance increased its holdings by 8.29 million H-shares of ABC (01288.HK)(601288.SH) last Tuesday (August 26), reaching 15% of the bank's H-share capital on the same day, constituting an acquisition of disclosable stakes, according to information from the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. This marks the third time Ping An Life has raised its stake in ABC's H-shares in six months that triggered acquisition of disclosable stakes.

Ping An Life had previously raised its stake in ABC's H-shares on February 17 and May 12 of this year, with its holdings exceeding 5% and 10% of the total H-shares, respectively.

So far this year, insurance companies have raised stakes in seven listed banks, constituting acquisition of disclosable stakes. Among them, ABC's H-shares, CM BANK (03968.HK)(600036.SH) H-shares, and PSBC (01658.HK)(601658.SH) H-shares have each been targeted three times, while BANKOFZHENGZHOU (06196.HK)(002936.SZ) H-shares have been targeted four times.
