<H Shrs>HSI Closes Up 174 Pts as NTES-S Leaps ~4%; Commodities Stocks Surge

Hong Kong stocks prospered today. The HSI inched up 174 points or 0.7% to close at 26,033. The HSCEI lifted 42 points or 0.5% to close at 9,172. The HSTECH picked up 45 points or 0.8% to close at 5,644. Total market turnover for the day amounted to $200.884 billion.

MEITUAN-W (03690.HK) shed 2.9% to $99.55, although its 3Q results were in line with expectations. Brokers noted competition in in-store services might happen again.

For other techs, BABA-W (09988.HK) jumped up 2.2%, while NTES-S (09999.HK) mounted 3.9% after Chinese media reported its mobile version of Where Winds Meet will be launched on 12 December, with global pre-registrations opening simultaneously. TENCENT (00700.HK) and BIDU-SW (09888.HK) climbed 1.3% and 1.6%, while JD-SW (09618.HK), KUAISHOU-W (01024.HK) and BILIBILI-W (09626.HK) gained 0.5-0.8%.

Gold futures added over 1% last Friday (28th). Gold miner CHINAGOLDINTL (02099.HK) surged 11.4%, while ZIJIN MINING (02899.HK), SD GOLD (01787.HK), ZHAOJIN MINING (01818.HK) and LINGBAO GOLD (03330.HK) ballooned 3.7-5.3%.

Silver and copper prices reached new highs, boosting CHI SILVER GP (00815.HK) by 5.6%. MMG (01208.HK) and JIANGXI COPPER (00358.HK) spiked 12.9% and 10.2%, while CMOC (03993.HK) also escalated 7.1%. Shipper PACIFIC BASIN (02343.HK) hyped up 4.2%.
